Ward Industries introduces a series of handmade copper lanterns available in a wide range of original styles as well as accurate English Victorian replicas.
Coppersmith’s art … Ward Lanterns are built in the finest tradition of the coppersmith’s art, using a combination of hand crafting skill and modern machinery, each Ward lantern is carefully built to specification and offers uncompromising quality and beauty.
We use only the finest 99% pure copper. All soldering is done on internal surfaces with lap joints to eliminate unsightly solder on outside surfaces.
Standard or custom … All the Ward Industries fixtures and posts in this brochure are described as photographed. Each model can be altered to meet your individual needs and tastes by using different colors or acrylic glazing, converting ceiling mount styles to wall mounts and so on, or completely new custom designs. We can respond to your order quickly with standard models and those with slight variations, ready to ship within fifteen days; special orders will be shipped within four to six weeks.
Mountings … A variety of mounting methods is available to provide exactly the look you want. Ward copper lanterns and posts can be used in many combinations to provide an exquisite coppery glow for streets, walkways, lobbies, porches…virtually anywhere. The mounting choices are: post mount, wall bracket, ceiling mount and hanging lanterns. The standard post mounts are for 3 inch diameter posts, and lanterns above 40” high are designed for 3 ½ inch diameter posts.
Victorian or contemporary styles … The Victorian era gave birth to elegance in design which has not diminished with time. Our solid copper Victorian Replica lanterns capture the spirit of the variety of contemporary styles. The choice is yours.
Our lantern’s names give their style and their numbers give their size. Example: - Highgate 31-12: Highgate is a 4 sided lantern with a solid copper hood, the “31” means, as a standard post mount fixture including the black painted steel base. It is 31” to 32” tall; and the “-12” means it is 12 to 13 inches wide.
